A Message from Lakin Prep Academy

¡Bienvenidos a Lakin Prep Academy!

We are proud to welcome you to our school community, where every child is seen, valued, and supported to grow as a bilingual, biliterate, and globally minded learner. At Lakin Prep, we believe that all students deserve access to high-quality, engaging education that nurtures their unique strengths and honors their cultural identities.

Our Spanish-English Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program currently serves students in kindergarten through fourth grade, and we are expanding each year. Whether your child is a native speaker of Spanish, English, or both, our DLI model provides a rich, immersive experience that promotes academic achievement, language development, and cross-cultural competence.

Lakin Prep Academy is proud to be the first school in the Littleton District on the path to becoming an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. Lakin Prep Academy is a Candidate School* for the Primary Years and Middle Years Programmes. Our school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. IB schools share a common philosophy—a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education that Lakin Prep Academy believes is important for our students.

Through the IB framework, we foster inquiry, critical thinking, and a sense of global responsibility. Our students are encouraged to be curious, compassionate, and principled—ready to contribute meaningfully to their communities and the world.

We invite you to explore what makes Lakin Prep Academy a truly special place to learn and grow. Together, we are building a future rooted in knowledge, empathy, and international mindedness.

Vamos Leones!

Warmly,

Dr. Nicole Durazo

*Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme, or the Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted. For further information about the IB and its programmes, visit the International Baccalaureate website.
